About me


I have written in English, Dutch, and German all my life, in addition to my 35-year job as a global troubleshooter in aviation. 
Working in the world makes the world a bit of my home. But now that I am enjoying my retirement, I have traded the world for a small town in Germany where I love to live and where my writing has come to the fore.
The most beautiful place in the world, my favorite region, is Vorarlberg in Austria. I have often skied there, but lately, I prefer touring on my mountain bike.

Translator crossed in 6 languages

I translate novels, thrillers, and detective stories from and into Dutch, English, German, Indonesian (Bahasa), Norwegian (Bokmål), and Swedish. I particularly enjoy translating books from Scandinavia and Central Asia. Translating books from these regions is an incredibly rewarding task. My bookshelves are therefore abundantly filled with books, primarily from these regions.

To preserve the essence of the story to be translated and the atmosphere in which it is set, I not only maintain close contact with the author, but I also prefer to translate from the rough manuscript.
